Osen-Hunter Celebrates 10 Years!

Anniversary: 10 YearsTen years ago, the Osen-Hunter Group began as a vision shared by Dan Garrett and Rob Yeany. While working for the CIA, they connected over a mutual passion for a job well-done and an appreciation for an exceptional team. After a few years together, Yeany approached Garrett with a proposal: Create an elite security solutions service, based on quality, discretion, and responsiveness — and an impeccable reputation for taking care of its workforce. Garrett and Yeany knew that they could produce better-quality services than those available at the time.

“As we were watching the other companies develop, we started talking about how we could do it better and treat our people better,” Yeany explains. “We wanted to build a company that fostered loyalty from our people by being equally loyal to them.”

When Yeany first proposed Osen-Hunter to Garrett, he said that he would only move forward if Garrett was with him. Garrett agreed. They later brought on Cliff Braun as CEO, and the rest is history.

Raising the bar

Well, part of the history. Over the past 10 years, Osen-Hunter Group has grown substantially. OHG’s expertise in security has developed to include operations and training as well as technology, resulting in a steady increase in our clients. All programs and projects have been driven by the hands-on experience of their leaders and of their Deployers and Operators.

Osen-Hunter proudly boasts one of the best reputations in the business. Garrett says this is because of the quality and professionalism of OHG employees.

“When we talk to clients, we tell them that what we bring to the table is experience. We know the threats, how they operate, and what threat agents are trying to accomplish —and we’re the best. We’re their best defense against those threats,” Garret says.

True commitment

The foundation of OGH’s success, and the thing Garrett and Yeany both say they are most proud of, is simple: you.

Osen-Hunter stands out from the typical security provider by investing in a workforce of full-time employees, rather than relying on an independent contractor model. Though using independent contractors has some cost benefits, to Garrett, Yeany, and Braun, lower costs were never worth sacrificing quality.

“In the short term, we may cost more,” Yeany explains, “but we thought that in the long term, if we could bring quality people in, make them employees, and give them benefits, we would end up with loyal people who really wanted to be a part of something.”

What’s next

Osen-Hunter has a bright future ahead. The founders estimate substantial, steady growth, especially in the government sector. True to its roots, Osen-Hunter is committed to maintaining a strong community of employees, who Garret and Yeany both credit with the longevity and prosperity of OHG.

“We have made a real commitment to our people, and, in turn, we have a team that is invested, reliable, and of superior quality,” Garrett says. “It really is our folks. When all is said and done, you’re only successful if you have good people.”
