Compass Points

What a Weekend!

According to all the feedback we’ve received, Osen-Hunter’s 2014 Company Retreat was a great success. Thank you to everyone who came! We loved having you and sharing a great weekend with you and your families.

Here are some of the highlights of the event.

From Saturday morning to Sunday morning, employees and their families enjoyed fun activities that helped employees who infrequently see each other get to know their coworkers better. Because of the nature of our business and distributed workforce, it’s not often that we have the chance to get the majority of you together!

OHG Corporate Retreat

Upon arrival, participants were greeted in a welcome area with

  • a penny jar
  • a jar of wine corks
  • a live bull (yes, really!)

Everyone put in guesses for the number of items in the jar and the weight of the bull. (One employee hit the poundage on the nose!) Then there was a welcome session with icebreaker questions, such as

  • OHG Corporate RetreatWho’s been married the longest — and the shortest?
  • Who is the longest tenured employee, and who is newest in our company?
  • Who traveled the farthest?

people4After lunch, we had a group photo and demos of Osen-Hunter Innovative Technologies’ major products. People could go fishing, swimming, or participate in a land navigation course or cornhole tournament. At dinner, we were serenaded by an acoustic guitar player. After dinner, tethered hot air balloon rides were a huge hit into the night, then participants were treated with a bonfire and a s’mores bar.
Some people left to head for the hotel, but those who stayed sat around a campfire and chatted and listened to guitar music until the wee hours. Those who stayed onsite slept in “glamping” tents complete with queen-sized beds, rugs, and lights. After a hearty breakfast, the happy glampers left for home.

Thanks to all for a great and very memorable event!
